The 6 Things That Set Your Hot Tub Moving Price
1. Spa size and weight
A dry 2–3 person spa is around 400–500 lbs; a 6–8 person unit is commonly 700–900 lbs, and swim spas run well past 1,500 lbs and over 12 feet long. Bigger means more crew, heavier-rated equipment, and often a crane instead of dollies — it's the first thing that moves a quote.
2. Access at both ends
This is the single biggest cost driver. A 4-foot-plus side gate, a flat path, and a driveway you can back into is the cheapest job we do. Narrow gates, block walls, stairs, tiered yards, long carries, gravel drives, and elevated decks all add labor, equipment, or a crane.
3. Whether a crane is required
When the spa physically can't pass the gate or there's no ground path, a licensed crane partner lifts it over the house or wall. Crane work is quoted as a separate line so you can see exactly what it adds — and we only recommend it when a dolly move genuinely isn't possible.
4. Distance between addresses
A relocation across the same city costs less than a move from the Inland Empire to Los Angeles or Temecula. Distance is quoted up front and included in the flat rate — never added as a surprise travel fee on move day.
5. Job type: relocation, delivery, or removal
Relocations involve two access paths (out and in) plus transport, so they're priced above a one-way delivery or a removal. Removal and disposal is flat-rate and includes hauling and recycling. Removing an old spa and delivering a new one on the same trip is cheaper than booking two visits.
6. Extras and site conditions
Covers, cover lifters, steps, and decking surrounds hauled away; cutting a shell down when it can't leave whole; disconnect coordination with a licensed electrician; stairs, protected trees, or hardscape that needs ground protection. Mention these when you call so the quote is exact.
